Riddle & Roam is a self-guided mystery experience that sends you into real locations to follow a story, solve riddles, uncover passwords, and piece together a mystery along the way.
Each experience begins with a case from the Society, a fictional circle of explorers and mystery solvers with a long history of investigating stories that have slipped through the cracks. They have chosen you to take on one of those cases. You will learn what they need from you, receive your first clue, and set out for your first location.
How Does Riddle & Roam Work?
A Riddle & Roam mystery unfolds across several real-world locations. When you arrive at each stop, you receive another part of the story and a new piece of the investigation.
You might need to look around the space for a detail connected to a riddle. Something in the artwork, architecture, menu, or room around you could matter. Once you find the answer, it becomes your password and unlocks the next part of the experience.
Then you continue to your next location and see where the case takes you.
There is no live host setting the pace. You can spend time at each stop, order food or drinks, talk through the clues, and explore. Some answers come quickly. Others may keep you at the table for a while as everyone decides what the clue could mean.
What Kind of Experience Is Riddle & Roam?
If you enjoy escape rooms, scavenger hunts, puzzles, or interactive stories, parts of Riddle & Roam will probably feel familiar.
The experience happens throughout real places, and the locations themselves are connected to the mystery. You are following one continuing story as you move from stop to stop. The riddles help you uncover what happened and determine where the Society needs you to go next.
Food and drink can be part of the outing too. Your dossier may include Society recommendations for something to order or a detail worth knowing about a location. You have time to enjoy where you are while you work on the case.
Who Is a Self-Guided Mystery Experience For?
Riddle & Roam works well for couples looking for a different kind of date, friends who like solving things together, travelers exploring somewhere new, and locals who want a reason to get out and experience familiar places differently.
You do not need experience solving complicated puzzles. Pay attention to what is around you, read the clues carefully, and talk through what you notice. Sometimes another person will spot the thing you walked right past. That happens.
What Is the Riddle & Roam Society?
The Society is part of the story behind every Riddle & Roam mystery. Its records are kept by figures including the Archivist, the Cartographer, the Keeper of Keys, the Chronicler, and the Navigator.
When the Society gives you a case, they are also watching to see what kind of explorer you will become. Every clue you solve moves you further into their world.
At the final location, you will bring together what you have uncovered and solve the mystery you were given. Completing the case also completes your initiation into the Society.
