Society Mythos
The Village Beyond the Palace Gates
First Stop
The castle overlooks the village below, where quiet streets wind along the water’s edge. Though the Rose Princess called the castle home, she was no stranger to the village. She often slipped away from courtly duties to wander its pathways, favoring the calm of the village over the formality of the palace. Her rose-colored gowns were a familiar sight among the storefronts and pathways by the water. Around her neck she wore a small gold locket; the villagers say she was never without it.
Those who live and work here know her habits well and happily share them with you. She often purchased fresh bread from the baker and stopped by her favorite florist to tuck a flower into her hair. In a quiet garden just beyond the village, she would sit reading for hours, watching as the petals fell one by one around her. Afterwards, she would wander the village offering encouragement and kind words before returning home to the palace.
Evidence
As you continue searching the village, something catches your eye. A small scrap of pale blue fabric hangs from a low branch just beyond the walkway, torn as though someone passed this way in haste. It does not match the pale pink gowns the Rose Princess was known for wearing. If it is not hers, then someone else crossed this path.
When you ask about the fabric, the villagers exchange uneasy glances. In the days before the Princess disappeared, they had begun noticing something strange.
A woman had been seen walking the same routes as the Princess. From a distance, the two appeared remarkably alike, save for their gowns: the Princess in her customary shades of pink, the other dressed in pale blue. The village had taken to calling her the Lady in Blue. Day after day, she seemed to appear wherever the Princess happened to be.
No one ever saw the woman approach the Princess directly, nor did anyone hear her speak. Yet her repeated appearances unsettled the village. Some believed she was simply curious. Others wondered whether she was watching the Princess for reasons of her own. Whatever her purpose, she never revealed it.
The villagers are grateful you came. They care deeply for the Princess. The old prophecies tell of a future shaped by the Crown, and many fear what her absence could mean. They want the Princess to be found, and they are grateful that someone is finally listening. The answers, they believe, may be hidden in the details others overlooked.

Society Discussion
- If the torn blue fabric isn’t the Princess’s, whose is it? Build your case.
- What do you think was the Rose Princess’ follower’s motive?
- Why do you think the Chancellor is hesitant to get The Society involved?
- The Princess preferred the chaos of the village over the comfort of the palace. Where do you go when you need to think?
- She kept fresh bread, flowers in her hair, and a quiet garden, what would your version of that routine look like?
Society Photo Moment
Find something pink and something blue within the same frame: your drinks, your clothes, anything around you.
This is the moment the two of them almost met.

Observe your surroundings at this stop to reveal the answer.
Upon a shield outside these halls,
A single floral emblem calls.
No thorn will prick, no stem you’ll hold;
Name the bloom in red and gold.
